Social engineering at a Marriott hotel leads to theft of guest and card data
Marriott confirmed that hackers tricked an employee at a Maryland hotel into giving access to a computer in June 2022 and claimed to have stolen 20GB of data including guest card details. Marriott said it would notify 300 to 400 individuals and did not pay an extortion demand.
