The covered entity (CE), Spinal and Sports Care Clinic, reported that it experienced a ransomware attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 1,136 individuals. The PHI involved included name, addresses, phone numbers, and health insurance and financial information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE provided complimentary credit monitoring services and updated its administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect its sensitive data.
