Sensata Technologies, Inc. Health and Welfare Benefit Plan

The covered entity (CE), Sensata Technologies, Inc. Health and Welfare Benefit Plan, reported that an unauthorized party gained access to its network environment, accessing and obtaining protected health information (PHI) of 16,630 individuals. The PHI involved included demographic and claims information. The CE notified HHS, the affected individuals, the media and posted substitute notice on its website. In response to the breach, the CE implemented enhancements to its cybersecurity environment, strengthened its policies and procedures, conducted a security risk analysis, and revised its employee training content.
