LockBit ransomware attack halts Royal Mail international shipping and leaks staff data
Royal Mail confirmed a ransomware attack on January 17, 2023 that left it unable to dispatch letters and parcels abroad for weeks. The LockBit gang claimed the attack and posted stolen data including technical files, HR and disciplinary records, salary details and a staff member's COVID-19 vaccination record; the full scale of the breach was not disclosed.
