The covered entity (CE), NYC Health + Hospitals, reported that its business associate was the victim of a ransomware attack that compromised the electronic protected health information (ePHI) of 43,727 individuals. The ePHI involved included names, dates of birth, medications prescribed, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and posted substitute notice on its website.
