Neurological Institute of Savannah & Center for Spine

The covered entity (CE), The Neurological Institute of Savannah & Center for Spine, P.C., reported that it experienced a hacking attack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 32,548 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, social security numbers, claims information, diagnoses/conditions, lab results, medications, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and posted substitute notice on its website. In response to the breach, the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards. Staff were retrained.
