Ransomware attack on MediSecure exposes data of 12.9 million Australians
Electronic prescription provider MediSecure disclosed a large-scale ransomware attack in May 2024; the data theft itself continued until November 2023. In July it said about 12.9 million Australians had personal and health data stolen; the company entered voluntary administration in June.
