Conti ransomware cripples Costa Rica's finance ministry and other agencies
Beginning April 17, 2022, the Conti gang hit nearly 30 Costa Rican government institutions including the Ministry of Finance, disrupting tax and customs systems and leaking stolen data. Conti demanded $10 million, later raised to $20 million, and the health system was later hit by Hive.
