Dental Center of Westport Group

The covered entity (CE), Dental Center of Westport Group, reported that an employee was the victim of an email phishing scheme that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 2,175 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, diagnoses, and claims and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect its PHI.
