Missing computer held SSNs of 540,000 New York workers' comp claimants
CS STARS lost track of a computer on May 9, 2006 holding Social Security numbers and birth dates of more than half a million New Yorkers who claimed against a special workers' compensation fund. The computer was recovered, and the New York Attorney General found CS STARS violated the state breach law.
