Corpus Christi Tots & Teens Pediatrics

The covered entity (CE), Corpus Christi Tots & Teens Pediatrics, reported that it experienced a cyber-attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 31,787 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, Social Security numbers, health insurance information, diagnoses, lab results, medications prescribed, and other treatment information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, the media, and provided substitute notice. In its mitigation efforts, the CE implemented additional administrative and technical safeguards to better protect its PHI.
