Brockton Neighborhood Health Center

The covered entity (CE), Brockton Neighborhood Health Center, reported that it was the subject of a ransomware attack that affected the protected health information (PHI) of 97,488 individuals. The PHI involved included names, addresses, dates of birth, diagnoses, lab results, medications, and other treatment and health insurance information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach, the CE adopted encryption technologies, retrained workforce members, and implemented additional physical and technical safeguards.
