The covered entity (CE), Barnes-Jewish Hospital, reported that it experienced a cybersecurity incident that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of 5,850 individuals. The PHI involved included names, dates of birth, addresses, and claims and financial information. The CE notified HHS, affected individuals, and the media. In response to the breach the CE implemented additional administrative, technical, and security safeguards to better protect its sensitive information. Staff were also retrained.
