The business associate (BA), ApolloMD Business Services, LLC, reported that it experienced a cyberattack that compromised the protected health information (PHI) of approximately 626,540 individuals. The PHI involved demographic and treatment information. The BA notified HHS, the media, the affected individuals, and its affected covered entities. In its mitigation efforts, the BA retrained its workforce and strengthened its threat detection and response solutions. OCR provided technical assistance to the BA regarding the HIPAA Rules.
