Laptop stolen from employee's car held data of 260,000 Ameriprise clients
A laptop with customer names, Social Security numbers and some account information was stolen from an employee's car on Christmas Eve 2005. It was later recovered, and Ameriprise settled with Massachusetts in December 2006.
